When purchasing batteries for your hearing aids it is important that you choose the right size and type of battery to suit your aid and to provide optimum functioning. Modern digital hearing aids are more efficient in power consumption and Zinc Air batteries are found to be more effective and environmentally friendly. It is highly recommended that you avoid using Mercury batteries as they are harmful to the environment. If you happen to use Mercury batteries please do not discard them in your household bins but return the used batteries to your hearing aid provider as they have safe and secure ways of disposing of Mercury batteries.

Accessories

Dehumidifiers:

Hearing aids mainly malfunction due to condensation. Dehumidifiers are great for storing aids in a protected and dry environment. The aids are placed in a container (supplied) that dries out excess moisture while the aids are not in use overnight. Dehumidifiers increase the life of hearing aids and reduce the chance of malfunction.

Cleaning tools:

A common problem with custom made Completely In the Canal (CIC), In The Canal (ITC) and In The Ear (ITE) hearing aids is cerumen (wax) blocking the sound bore of the hearing aid. We can supply tools you can use to keep the cerumen (wax) from building up. The cleaning process should be done everyday for optimum functioning of the hearing aid.

Ear mould Blower:

These are also called puffers which are used to blow off any cerumen (wax), dust or other debris that block the sound pathway in the tubing of Behind The Ear (BTE) ear moulds. Puffers can also be used in BTE moulds and Canal aids to clean the vent to enable ventilation to the outer ear.

Other Accessories:

Hearing aid sweat bands and Ear gears (with clips) are also available.
